I can't believe this
by truthseeker1969 inyou all know i was in the uk settling estate issues and that the elders 'wanted to chat with me".. well i left before they could have the meeting i arranged on my "free day".. they turned up at my mothers home and were livid that i had gone, but here is the kicker.. brother heavenly described me as a potential apostate for what i had done, which sent my brother over the edge and he demanded a retraction and apology which they quickly gave him.
he intends to speak with the co when he comes on the matter.. it gets better, elder ballbag actually said "apostates do more good for the congregation than they think.
they pull those who should not be part of the org and clean the congregation" .

Falling Away
by Blueblades ini understand that between 1970 and 1995, one-third of the jehovah's witnesses worldwide left the organization.
the figure is 55% for those in the u.s.a.these figures would seem to mean that there are a lot of dissatisfied jw's!
if you were to ask a jw's,why so many would want to leave if there is such a wonderful atmosphere of love among the witnesses, could they give you a good reason?

Is the Soul Immortal...Biblically Speaking?
by Vanderhoven7 ini wonder if someone would care to produce a list (full quotes) of all the proof texts in scripture they are aware of that establish that the human soul is innately immortal?.
just the scriptures...without comment please...so everyone will see just how clear the bible alone (sola scriptura) is on this issue.

Hi Vander! As a person who has concluded that "THE BIBLE" cannot be relied on for answers to the searching questions such as you ask, may I ask you this, do you actually believe that the information handed down over the centuries in the bible has God's response to these questions or is man actually recording these words written in the various texts?
I do agree that in the bible itself there is nothing sola scripture that gives us concrete and absolute words from God or man that we have an immortal soul within this material fleshly body.

Random thoughts about Garden of Eden and Big Bang theory
by ballistic ini was reading about the garden of eden as follows.... knowledge and eternal life separate the gods from humanity.
the garden of eden story indicates that divinity consists of two primary elements: knowledge and immortality.
through an act of disobedience, human beings acquired the former, but they could not be allowed to attain the latter, lest they become like god.

Ballistic the Garden of Eden never existed in reality. It is a story written by a Hebrew culture that has two separate accounts that contradict each other. Ask yourself, who actually wrote Genesis, when and where was it written and by whom or how many authors wrote the account.

There was a time when I thought that they were spirit appointed men to shepherd Jesus' little sheep, to be a protector for the congregation.
Now I know better.Having served on the Elder Body I know that they and myself were not appointed by Holy Spirit. Even so, I tried my best to be the kind of person that Jesus would be proud of to have served him well.
That was all an illusion. The ones serving today "Weird" ???? I haven't seen or heard one in years. Where do they hide out?

No one is going to Heaven (and my introduction to the forum)
by sobrino1 ini'm new to the forum, though i had been a lurker for quite some time now.
i studied w/ the witnesses for a number of years, to be specific, for 10 years (since i was a child) but never actually became one; though, i was counted as one in the yearbooks as a "publisher.
" so, as far as i got was as an unbaptized publisher.

ok.What about all the other holy books, what do they say about heaven. Books and more books quoting writings of men.
God to Adam...dust you are and to dust you shall return.
Quoting books verses one's own personal expierence goes circular. He / She is puported to know this and that from this and that...on and on it goes...

What's The Watchtower So Paranoid About Anyway?
by minimus inso, you see a hidden book (in this internet age), so you view a "confidential" letter, so you record a meeting?.
the watchtower thinks they are entrusted with special communication that ultimately comes from god.
only special ones can be privy to the inner most holy of the watchtower society.. they obviously feel they have been enlightened by god & his governing body to demand whatever allegiance they feel is deserved.. yet, quite simply, they are full of shit.

Mini, Jesus is quoted a saying.."By your own words you are condemned" The Watchtower has found this hard truth said by Jesus to be a pain in the ass for them.
Paranoria is the least of their problems. Condemnation is happening to them right now, as we have seen throughtout the internet.

Why do some expect the WTS to one day end? It's simply not going to happen folks........
by jambon1 inin my anger as an ex witness about 4 years ago i really wished that this would happen.
although the glaring errors, hypocrisy & downright badness of the wts was finally evident to me personally, others whom i had expeced to eventually leave the org have not.. i think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses.
having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions.

Follow the money and nothing else. Has long as the money is there, they continue to exist.
How do you lose billions in real estate?
Religious wise they know that they will keep getting tax breaks.
Once the religious aspects disappear they will have too pay millions in taxes.
So, they will keep a tight grip religious wise, to not have to pay those taxes.
My thoughts, anyone else think like me.
